Circular X PhD Laura Niessen will be defending her thesis titled "Better, not more: Investigating the paradox of sufficiency-oriented business" at a public defense ceremony on 15th November 2024 at 16:00 at the Aula of Maastricht University.
The aim of her thesis research was to better understand companies that promote sufficiency. Linked to that Laura aimed to broadcast the idea of sufficiency and the need for it, as well as the reality of businesses already promoting “enough”. To do this, she published several open-access publications that can be read not only by the academic community but also by businesses, policy makers and the general public. The PhD also included the creation of two tools for business sustainability which publicly available.
